Clizia Pendant - Rose and White Gold, Diamonds
Clizia, “the illustrious one”, a nymph in love with the Sun, was betrayed by him with another girl. The nymph told her father about the encounter between the Sun and his daughter, and he condemned the latter to death by having her buried alive. The Sun repudiated Clizia for her behaviour and she, in despair, lay down in a field to watch him pass across the sky for eternity until the god transformed her into a heliotrope, a Mediterranean plant whose white flowers always move in the direction of the sun. Inspired by the figure of the nymph and her love for the Sun, the Clizia pendant is composed of concentric squares in 18-carat white gold and natural brilliant-cut white diamonds symbolising the nymph, and 18-carat rose gold symbolising the rising sun, arranged in a harmonious succession from the central square-cut diamond.
